OLOVO Energy Unveils Breakthrough Sulfation-Reversing Battery Storage System for Global Energy Equity
New lead-acid innovation delivers affordable, recyclable, and safe energy storage for clinics, schools, and microgrids across Low-and Medium-Income Countries and Developing Economies
Newport Beach, CA - June 2025 – OLOVO Energy, a clean energy innovation firm based in the United States, has launched the world’s first battery management system (BMS) for lead-acid batteries that effectively reverses sulfation – offering an affordable, scalable, and sustainable energy storage alternative for regions with limited grid access, high infrastructure costs, and a willingness to break dependencies on raw material supply chains.
This breakthrough technology directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by extending the life of lead-acid batteries to a minimum of 5,000 cycles, reversing their primary failure mode: sulfation. OLOVO BESS are Verra-aligned, meeting or exceeding the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta).
Designed for Global Deployment
OLOVO’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is built for deployment in:
Off-grid and remote communities
Mobile health clinics and rural hospitals
Community schools and digital education hubs
Diesel generator replacements in microgrids
Disaster-prone or climate-vulnerable regions
Systems are available from 250kWh to 1.5MWh and operate efficiently from –20°F to 120°F with 99.9% recyclability and zero thermal runaway risk, making them ideal for resource-constrained environments.
Impact-Ready Technology, OLOVO delivers:
Up to 40% lower costs than lithium-ion alternatives
Easy maintenance and global parts availability
Full remote monitoring capabilities
Plug-and-play compatibility with solar, grid, or generator systems
Real-time energy usage diagnostics via cellular or Wi-Fi
Full compliance with UL 1741, NFPA 855, and IEEE 1547
OLOVO’s solution unlocks reliable backup power for healthcare, education, and infrastructure, without reliance on rare earth materials, cobalt, or complex recycling networks.
“Our goal is simple: deliver clean, resilient energy storage where it's needed most—without dependence on lithium, fire-prone chemistries, ecological impact of raw materials sourcing, or global supply bottlenecks,” said John Santoyo, CEO of OLOVO Energy.
Partnering with NGOs, Donors, and Development Agencies
OLOVO is actively seeking partnerships with:
NGOs and aid agencies working on rural electrification
Climate adaptation and disaster relief programs
Public-private initiatives focused on energy justice
